Cancer has become a serious disease, which is troubling many people these days. It is spreading its wings all over the world, due to which many people are losing their lives. Especially in India, cancer cases are increasing rapidly in the last few days, due to which it has become a serious health issue in the country. There are many types of cancer, which affect different parts of the body and are known by the same name. Colon or bowel cancer is one of these, which is rapidly making young people its victims these days.

Recently a study has come out, which shows that cases of colon cancer are increasing rapidly among the youth. The matter of concern is that there is no clear reason for these increasing cases. Cancer Research UK says that this disease still affects the elderly more, but its increase in people under 50 in many countries is worrying. Researchers say that poor diet and obesity can be among its risk factors. Let us know some other factors that cause colon cancer-

obesity

If you are overweight, your risk of colon cancer may increase. Obesity can cause many serious diseases, bowel cancer is one of them. Being overweight increases the risk of colorectal cancer in people, but this relationship seems to be stronger in men. In such a situation, maintain a healthy weight to reduce its risk.

Type-2 diabetes

People with type 2 diabetes are more likely to develop colorectal cancer than people who do not get colorectal cancer. Researchers believe this high risk may be due to the high levels of insulin in people with diabetes. Both type 2 diabetes and colorectal cancer have some of the same risk factors (obesity or lack of physical activity), but even after taking these into account, people with diabetes still have a higher risk of this cancer.

certain types of diets

Certain types of diets also increase the risk of colon cancer. Eating large amounts of red meat (such as beef, pork, lamb or liver) and processed meats (such as hot dogs) increases your risk of colorectal cancer.

Smoking

People who smoke for a long time are more likely to develop colorectal cancer than people who do not smoke. Smoking also increases the risk of people developing colon polyps. It most commonly causes lung cancer , but it is also linked to many other cancers.

drinking alcohol

If you drink alcohol, the risk of colorectal cancer also increases. Although any amount of alcohol is harmful for health, but even if you drink, men should not drink more than 2 drinks a day and women should not drink more than 1 drink a day. However, doing this does not ensure that you can avoid cancer. So try to avoid it.
