In Hinduism, the period of Navratri is completely dedicated to the nine forms of Maa Durga. It is believed that during this period, Mata Rani arrives on earth and she uplifts her devotees. During this, the devotee worships the nine forms of Mata Rani with devotion and receives their blessings. Also, this is the time when there is a change in the season. According to religious beliefs, any devotee who observes fasts and worships during Navratri with devotion, all his sorrows and sufferings are removed. Auspicious time for Ghat establishment (Shardiya Navratri 2024 Shubh Muhurat)

Every year, Sharadiya Navratri begins from the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. In such a situation, according to the Panchang, the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month is falling on October 03, 2024 at 12:18 pm. At the same time, this date will end on October 04 at 02:58 pm. In such a situation, according to the Udaya date, Sharadiya Navratri will be celebrated from Thursday, October 03. Ghatasthapana is done on the first day of Navratri. In such a situation, two auspicious moments are being made for Ghat establishment on this day, which are as follows -

  • Ghatasthapana Muhurta - from 06:15 am to 07:22 am
  • Ghatasthapana Abhijeet Muhurta - from 11:46 am to 12:33 pm

1. Mother Shailputri form

On the first day of Navratri, there is a ritual of worshipping Goddess Shailputri along with Ghatasthapana. If we talk about the form of Goddess Shailputri, the first power of Goddess Durga, then her colour is white. She wears white clothes and rides a bull. Goddess Shailputri holds a trident in her right hand and a lotus in her left hand. The form of the first Adishakti i.e. Goddess Shailputri shows gentleness, compassion, affection and patience.

2. Mother Brahmacharini form

On the second day of Navdurga, Goddess Brahmacharini is worshipped. In this form, Goddess Rani is wearing white clothes. She has an ashtadal garland in one hand and a kamandalu in the other. Goddess Parvati is worshipped in the unmarried form of Goddess Brahmacharini. This form is called the goddess of knowledge, penance, and renunciation.

3. Mother Chandraghanta form

On the third day of Navratri, there is a ritual of worshipping Maa Chandraghanta. Her colour is as bright as gold. This form of Mata Rani has a bell-shaped half-moon on her forehead, hence she is known as Chandraghanta. She has ten hands in which she holds weapons like Khadga, Trishul, sword, bow, lotus, Kamandalu, and mace. Her vehicle is a lion.

4. Mother Kushmanda form

On the fourth day of Navratri, Maa Kushmanda is worshipped. Her form is divine and supernatural, in which the mother is seated on a lion. In her eight arms, Maa Kushmanda holds weapons and kamandal, urn, lotus, Sudarshan Chakra etc. By worshipping this form of Maa Parvati, the devotee attains a healthy life.

5. Mother Skandmata form

On the fifth day of Navratri, Maa Skandamata is worshipped. The god of war, i.e. Lord Kartikeya, is depicted in the lap of Maa Skandamata. This form of the Goddess is called Skandamata because she is the mother of Lord Kartikeya, i.e. Skanda Dev. This form of the Goddess has four arms, out of which she is holding lotus in two arms. She holds Kartikeya in one hand and is seen giving blessings with the fourth hand. The Goddess rides a lion.

6. Mother Katyayani form

The sixth day of Navratri is dedicated to the worship of Maa Katyayani. The sixth form of Goddess Durga, i.e. Maa Katyayani, has a bright complexion. She has four hands, in which she holds a sword in one hand and a lotus in another. One of her hands is in Abhaya Mudra and the other is in Varada Mudra.

7. Mother Kalratri Swaroop

Mother Kalratri is worshipped on the seventh day of Navratri. Talking about her form, she has three eyes and wears a garland around her neck which shines like electricity. She has four hands, in two of which she holds a sword and an iron weapon. One hand is in Varmudhra and the other hand is in Abhaya Mudra. Her vehicle is a donkey.

8. Mother Mahagauri form

On the eighth day of Navratri, the worship of Goddess Mahagauri is prescribed. This form of Maa Parvati is very charming and attractive. She is wearing white clothes and she is also depicted in a Chaturbhuj form. She has a trident in one of her right hands and her other right hand is in Abhaya Mudra. She has a damru in one of her left hands and the other left hand is in Vara Mudra. Talking about her vehicle, Mahagauri also rides on a bull.

9. Mother Siddhidatri Swaroop

Talking about the form of Maa Siddhidatri, Maa Siddhidatri has 8 siddhis like Anima, Mahima, Prapti, Prakamya, Garima, Laghima, Ishitva and Vashitva. The mother sits on a lotus and has four arms. In this form, she holds a conch in one hand, a mace in the other, a lotus in the third and a chakra in the fourth hand.
