Story of Mother Brahmacharini (Maa Brahmacharini Vrat Katha)
According to mythology, Maa Brahmacharini is the daughter of Himalaya and Devi Maina, who performed a rigorous penance of Lord Shiva on the advice of Narad Muni and due to its effect, she got Lord Shiva as her husband. Due to this difficult penance, she is known as Tapashcharini i.e. Brahmacharini. It is said that during the penance, the goddess ate broken Bilva leaves for three thousand years. She continued to worship Shankar ji even after suffering every pain. After this, she even gave up Bilva leaves. Then for several thousand years, she performed penance by staying without water and food, when she stopped eating leaves, she was named Aparna. Due to severe penance, the body of the goddess became very weak.
Seeing this, all the gods, sages, Siddhas and munis praised Brahmacharini's penance as an unprecedented virtuous act and said, "Oh Goddess, your penance will definitely be successful". Then after some time, the same thing happened. Let us tell you, by worshipping Maa Brahmacharini, one attains all kinds of success.
