Shanghai: A knife attack in a supermarket in China last night caused a stir. In this supermarket located in Shanghai, a man attacked several people with a knife, in which three people died and 15 were injured.
He attacked people in anger
Local police said the attacker, identified as 37-year-old Lin, was arrested from a supermarket shortly after the incident on Monday night. The man carried out the attack in a fit of rage over a "personal financial dispute".
3 dead, 15 injured
Eighteen injured people were taken to hospital for treatment, where three died, police said. The other 15 suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Knife incidents on the rise in China
Knife attacks are on the rise in China. There have been several similar attacks in schools in the past. In September, a Japanese school student was stabbed and died in the southern city of Shenzhen, sparking outrage in Tokyo.
Meanwhile, in May, a man with a knife killed eight people and injured one in Xiaogan city in central Hubei province.
