In Gagan Narang's House of Glory podcast, Saina told that due to arthritis she is not able to train like before and her preparation is getting affected a lot. She said, "I still want to play, but my body is not cooperating." She also told that she can take a decision about her future by the end of this year.

In a conversation with Gagan Narang, Saina Nehwal said, "I have arthritis and my cartilage is quite damaged. Because of this, it has become very difficult for me to play continuously for eight-nine hours. If you do not prepare properly, then how can you challenge the best players in the world? I have to accept this truth at some level. Because just two hours of practice is not enough to compete with the top players in the world."

Saina has touched many heights in her career. She not only won a bronze medal in the London Olympics, but also won two medals for India in the World Championships. But, arthritis has affected her sports life a lot.
