State Bank of India is planning to recruit thousands of employees this financial year. SBI Chairman CS Shetty has given this information in a conversation with PTI. According to the chairman, these recruitments will be done to meet both the general functioning and special needs of the bank. The bank had recently announced about 1500 appointments for technical posts. In the last trading session, the stock of State Bank of India closed with a slight increase near the level of 800.
What information has the bank given
SBI Chairman said that we are strengthening our workforce and working on improving both the technical side of the bank and general banking. He said that recently the bank has also announced 1500 appointments for technical posts from entry level to top levels. Special jobs like data scientist, data architect, network operator have also been included in the recruitments. Overall, we will need 8000 to 10000 new people for the current financial year. This will include both special and general work. Regarding increasing the capacity of the employees, the chairman said that this is an ongoing process under which the bank is working on both reskilling and upskilling so that the growing needs of the customers can be met. Plan to open 600 new branches He also said that State Bank of India is also working on a plan to open 600 new branches in the current financial year. According to the data of March 2024, SBI's network across the country includes 22,542 branches. Apart from this, SBI has 65 thousand ATMs and access to 85 thousand business correspondents.
