Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of the nuclear security forces, has been assassinated in the Russian capital Moscow. Igor Kirillov has lost his life in a bomb blast. There has been a stir in Moscow since the incident came to light. Russian agencies have started investigating the incident. This blast took place close to the Kremlin.

 

The bomb was hidden in the scooter

Russia's Investigative Committee said the bomb was hidden in an electric scooter. The bomb blast on Tuesday killed a senior Russian general in charge of nuclear security forces. Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov was posted as the head of Russia's nuclear, biological and chemical security forces.

 

 

Explosion outside the apartment

According to Russian agencies, General Igor Kirillov was killed outside an apartment building on Ryazansky Prospekt. This place is about seven kilometers south-east of the Kremlin. Igor Kirillov's companion also lost his life in the bomb blast.

 

Two dead bodies seen in the photo

Photos posted on Russian Telegram channels show a broken entrance to a building littered with rubble and two bodies lying in blood-soaked snow. The matter is under investigation as a bomb blast. Russia's radioactive, chemical and biological defense troops are also known as RKhBZ. These special forces work in conditions of radioactive, chemical and biological contamination.

 

 

Britain has imposed sanctions on Kirillov

According to the Kyiv Independent, Ukraine's Security Service said that on Monday Ukrainian prosecutors charged Kirillov in absentia over the alleged use of chemical weapons banned in Ukraine. But Russia denied these allegations. Britain imposed sanctions on Kirillov and the nuclear security forces in October based on numerous reports of the use of riot control agents and the toxic choking agent chloropicrin on the battlefield.
