Former Prime Minister Imran Khan's wife Bushra Bibi has got interim bail from a Pakistani court. Let us tell you that the District and Sessions Court has granted interim bail to Bushra Bibi, wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Khan, till January 13 in cases related to the November 26 protest.

 

Duty Judge Shabir Bhatti heard their interim bail petitions. Bushra Bibi appeared in the court with her legal team to seek interim bail in four cases registered at Tarnol police station and three cases registered at Ramna police station.

 

Court granted bail to Bushra Bibi

According to the report, Bushra Bibi appeared before the ATC with her lawyers and sought bail in a total of 32 cases, 23 of which were related to the May 9 violence. She has now got interim bail in the cases registered in Rawalpindi, Attock and Chakwal.

 

Cases are politically motivated- Faisal Malik

Her lawyer Faisal Malik argued that the cases filed against Bushra Bibi were politically motivated and aimed at revenge.

 

Talking to media, Faisal Malik said the former first lady has surrendered herself before the ATC, adding that she had been named in 23 cases in Rawalpindi alone.

 

The PTI had launched the protest on November 24 demanding the release of Imran Khan. During the protest, the PTI caravan moved from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Islamabad and by November 26, the protesters reached D-Chowk where security personnel took action till late night to disperse the people and end the protest.

 

Meanwhile, PTI information secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram condemned the Rs 190 million PS corruption case against party founder Imran Khan and his wife and called it the "worst example of political persecution", the Express Tribune said.

 

Addressing a press conference in Peshawar on November 23, Akram warned that people would not tolerate any more injustice against Imran Khan.
