Ganga Dussehra 2024: According to the Sanatan Panchang, Ganga Dussehra is on June 16. This festival is celebrated every year on the Dashami date of the month of Jyeshtha. Mother Ganga is worshiped on this day. Along with this, worship, chanting and charity are also done. Tarpan and Pinddaan are also done on Ganga Dussehra to give salvation to the ancestors. It is contained in the Sanatan scriptures that Mother Ganga descended on earth to give salvation to the sons of King Sagar in ancient times. For this, tarpan of ancestors is also done on Ganga Dussehra. Mother Ganga is also called Paapharani. By taking bath in the river Ganga even on normal days, a person gets freedom from the sins committed knowingly or unknowingly. O destroyer of poisons, movable and immovable, I offer my obeisances to you.

O destroyer of the poison of the world, O living being, I offer my obeisances to Thee.

O destroyer of the threefold suffering, destroyer of life, I offer my obeisances to you.

O peaceful and progenitor, O pure idol, I offer my obeisances to you.

O purifying of all, I offer my obeisances to the idol of the sinful.

O bestower of enjoyment and liberation, O bestower of good fortune, I offer my obeisances to you.

O bestower of pleasure and enjoyment, O woman of pleasure, I offer my obeisances to you.

O Mandakini, I offer my obeisances to you, O giver of heaven.

Obeisance to the ornament of the three worlds, Obeisance to the three-path.

Parapara-parayai cha, Ganga nirvana-dayini.

Ganga be in front of me, Ganga stay behind me.

O Ganga, rise by my sides, O Ganga, may my position be in Thee.

In the beginning you are at the end and in the middle, all you are, Gangate Shiva!

You are the root nature, you are the man, and you are the other.

Ganga you are the Supreme Soul, Shiva, I offer my obeisances to you, O Shiva.

Fruit-hearing

He who recites this stotra, and he who hears it with faith.

He is liberated in ten ways from sins, arising from body, speech and mind.

He who is in disease shall be freed from disease, and from calamities with calamities.

He who is bound is freed from bondage, and he who is afraid is freed from fear.
