Arvind Trivedi's casting in Ramayana was special

Actors like Arun Govil are known for playing the role of Lord Ram in Doordarshan's Ramayana. But the way Arvind Trivedi played the role of Lankapati Ravana can never be forgotten. Today, of course, Arvind is not among us, but he is still remembered as Ravana of Ramayana. 

His casting in Ramayan was quite interesting, which he revealed in an interview to BBC. I had worked in Gujarati films and Ramanand Sagar had seen those films. Because of which he knew about my acting. It was because of Gujarati films that I got work in Ramayan. 

More than 400 people came to audition for the role of Raavan. But I got this role because of the grace of Lord Ram. I am thankful to God that I was selected for this role. 

Arvind was a true Shiva devotee in real life

Of course, Arvind Trivedi immortalised the character of Raavan in Ramayana on the small screen. But in real life, he was a true devotee of Lord Shiva. He used to constantly worship Lord Shiva. Being a Shiva devotee, Arvind had set a new example by playing the role of Raavan. Because Raavan was also considered the biggest devotee of Shiva. 

Arvind has done more than 250 films  

Not only in the Ramayan TV serial but Arvind also left his mark in films. He said- I have done more than 250 films in my acting career, which mostly includes Gujarati movies and many Hindi films like Prem Bandhan. 

Arvind was also an MP 

After Ramayan, Arvind Trivedi received the blessings of Lord Ram in real life as well. He said that after Ramayan, my life changed completely. I contested the election from Sambarkatha Lok Sabha seat of Gujarat and won with a huge majority and became an MP.
