News Topical, Digital Desk : A case of embezzlement of ₹4.79 lakh has come to light at the Mursan Kota branch of the Gramin Bank. After failing to receive a hearing at the police station, branch manager Anjul Kumar Yadav filed a petition in the Chief Justice of India (CJM) court, demanding that the Mursan police station register a case and investigate.
According to the application, on November 4, 2022, during the audit of Aryavart Bank branch Kota, when the field auditor matched the cash, Rs 4,79,930 was found missing from the cash register.
Withdrew the money for personal use
A departmental investigation revealed that the then-office assistant, Nikhil Kumar, a resident of Chamrawali Bodaki, Gautam Buddha Nagar, withdrew the money for his personal use between November 1 and November 4, 2022. The branch manager alleges that the then-assistant manager, Dinesh Sharma, a resident of village Seh, Mathura, and assistant manager, Kamad Kunal Bajpai, a resident of Saket Nagar, Rae Bareli, were the primary key holders. As required by law, they neither completed the cash journals nor had the cash locked in the double-lock safe in their presence.
The accused had deposited the embezzled amount in the bank account.
This negligence made the embezzlement possible. The petition states that after the matter came to light, the accused, Nikhil Kumar, deposited the embezzled funds into a bank account. Nevertheless, this is a case of criminal misconduct and dereliction of duty.
No report was filed
The branch manager stated that on March 15, 2024, he personally went to Mursan police station to file an FIR, but the report was not registered. Subsequently, the application was sent by registered post on March 18, 2024. After several verbal requests, a letter was also sent to the Chief Justice of India (CJM) on September 5, 2024, but the FIR has not yet been registered.
An application was also given to SP Hathras
A petition was also submitted to the Superintendent of Police, Hathras, but no action was taken. Forced to do so, the bank approached the court on August 13, 2025. The applicant requested the Chief Justice of India (CJM) to order the Inspector-in-Charge of Mursan Police Station to register a case and conduct an investigation. The matter will be heard in court.
