Raj Thackeray's party is aggressive on Marathi language issue, will MNS get success in BMC elections?

Maharashtra Politics: Raj Thackeray's party is once again seen in action mode in Mumbai. The Marathi issue remains in Maharashtra and Raj Thackeray's MNS party has held on to it as always. MNS is looking aggressive on the Marathi language issue. It is believed that local body elections are going to be held in the state now, so Maharashtra Navnirman Sena is fully active.

Raj Thackeray's party is being accused of directly beating up those who insult Marathi language and making a video of it and making it viral. Raj Thackeray had warned about the Marathi issue in the Gudi Padwa rally. He had said, "Wherever Marathi is insulted, a voice will be raised under the ears."

Before Gudi Padwa, Raj Thackeray had also organized a Marathi poetry convention, where many big personalities like actor Vicky Kaushal and Javed Akhtar had participated. In such a situation, it is being inferred that after the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Maharashtra, Raj Thackeray's party is contesting the BMC elections with the Marathi card issue. 

Security guard attacked in Powai, Mumbai

Recently, in Mumbai's Powai area, a security guard was beaten up by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers for making derogatory comments against the Marathi language. The video of this incident went viral on social media, in which the guard was warned to respect the Marathi language. Even before this, be it a mobile gallery or a society, Marathi language controversy was seen everywhere and Raj Thackeray's party was seen leading in this.

Statement of RSS leader Bhaiyyaji Joshi

In March 2025, senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi had said that it is not necessary to learn Marathi to live in Mumbai. This statement led to a controversy and he clarified that the native language of Mumbai and Maharashtra is Marathi. All people living here should learn Marathi language.
