New Delhi: Before Diwali, the central government has made a big announcement for railway employees. In the cabinet meeting held on Thursday under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, it has been announced to give 78 days bonus to railway employees. The bonus will be paid to railway employees before Dussehra and Diwali Puja holidays. After this decision of the cabinet, about 12 lakh railway employees will benefit.

Railway employees will be given bonus for 78 days before the upcoming festivals. A total of Rs 2,028 crore will be spent on this. 11 lakh 72 thousand 240 employees will get the benefit of this. The central government took this decision in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi on Thursday.

Maximum amount you will get is Rs 17951

Giving information about the decisions after the meeting, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that there are currently more than 13 lakh employees in the Railways. Out of these, about one lakh 59 thousand employees have joined in the last financial year. He said that every eligible employee will get a maximum of Rs 17,951 for 78 days.

Who will get the benefit?

The bonus money will be paid to various categories of railway employees like Track Maintainers, Loco Pilots, Train Managers (Guards), Station Masters, Supervisors, Technicians, Technician Helpers, Group C Staff, Points Men, Ministerial Staff and others.

This is given as an incentive before the Durga Puja holidays every year to motivate eligible employees towards improving performance. The performance of the Railways has been quite good in the year 2023-2024.
