Azamgarh News Today: A few months ago, the police in Azamgarh had robbed the money of a businessman by threatening to close the police station and encounter him. After the hearing of this case was completed, the Chief Judicial Magistrate has ordered to register an FIR and investigate the accused policemen.
This case is of 31 August 2024, when a businessman named Manoj Gupta was kidnapped by five people including a sub-inspector and two constables of Ahraula police station and brought to the police station. He was locked in the police station and threatened to be killed in an encounter and his cash and gold were snatched away. After this incident, the victim Manoj Gupta, a resident of Bisauli police station area, had approached the court.
What is the whole matter?
After the hearing of this case was completed, Chief Judicial Magistrate Satyavir Singh has ordered to register an FIR and investigate against five people including a sub-inspector and two constables of Ahraula police station. After getting the order from the court, Azamgarh police has started further action.
Earlier, the victim Manoj Gupta had told in his application given to the court that on the evening of 31 August 2024, at around 5 pm, he was drinking tea at a shop in Kandharapur market. At the same time, a sub-inspector and a constable named Neeraj Gaur along with a constable without a name plate reached the spot in a private vehicle.
Police threatened encounter
According to the victim, property dealers Awadhesh Yadav and Akash Yadav were also with the policemen. The inspector, the two constables and the people who came with them abused Manoj Gupta and forcibly made him sit in the car and took him to Ahraula police station and locked him up.
In the police station lockup itself, Manoj Gupta was threatened with an encounter and 11500 rupees and a gold chain were snatched from him. When Manoj Gupta's brother Manish Gupta informed about Manoj Gupta's kidnapping on 112, Manoj Gupta was released at night.
After examining the facts and circumstances of this incident, the Chief Judicial Magistrate ordered the Superintendent of Police Azamgarh to register a case against five people including the inspector and two constables. The court has ordered
a Circle Officer to investigate the entire case.
Azamgarh SP Rural Chirag Jain said that the court's order has been received at Kandharapur police station. Further legal action is being taken in the case. An order has been received to register a case against three police personnel and two other people.
