Ujjain Rape Case: The police has made a big claim on its behalf in the rape case that has tarnished the religious city of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. Police officials claim that when the matter came to their notice after the video went viral, the police themselves called the victim woman to the police station and registered a case.
Ujjain Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma, while talking to ABP News, said that the video of the rape of a woman on the footpath had gone viral on social media. After this, the video also reached the police. The police itself took cognizance of the entire matter and started investigation by reaching the spot.
The accused was intoxicated at the time of the incident,
after this the victim woman was found. The police called the victim woman to the police station and after talking to her, registered a complaint. After this, a case of rape was registered against the accused and he was arrested. Currently, the accused is in jail. SP Pradeep Sharma says that the accused was intoxicated at the time of the incident. The police has many such evidences against him, due to which he will be given severe punishment.
The woman and the accused knew each other beforehand.
Ujjain's Central Kotwali police registered a case under several sections including rape and arrested the accused. The police had taken full action in this case on September 4 itself. However, when the video went viral on social media, there was an uproar.
