Jodhpur. Union Home Minister Amit Shah once again mentioned Jammu and Kashmir, Article 370, and Jawaharlal Nehru. Addressing an election rally in Jodhpur, Rajasthan on Monday, he said that former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had made the biggest mistake by implementing Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. This mistake was rectified by the Modi government at the Center on August 5, 2019, and the tricolor was hoisted in Jammu and Kashmir.
PM Modi fulfilled the promise of Ram temple: Amit Shah
Amit Shah further said that the Congress had always ignored the issue of the Ram temple but the Narendra Modi government fulfilled the promise of building the temple at Ram Janmabhoomi. He said, “For 70 years, the Congress party kept deviating from the issue of Ram temple at 'Ram Janmabhoomi', but PM Modi not only laid the foundation stone but also performed 'Pran Pratishtha' on January 22.”
When Amit Shah counted two mistakes of Nehru
Responding to the debate on the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill, 2023 and the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization (Amendment) Bill, 2023 in the Lok Sabha a few months ago, Amit Shah said Nehru made "two mistakes". The first mistake was declaring a ceasefire in Kashmir without achieving complete victory against Pakistan. Secondly, he also took the issue of Kashmir (during the India-Pakistan war in 1948) to the United Nations. Shah said that if Nehru had taken the right step, PoK would have been an integral part of India today.
The Home Minister had further said, "During the period 1994-2004, a total of 40,164 incidents of terrorism were recorded. During the period 2004-2014, a total of 7,217 incidents of terrorism were recorded. During the period 2014-2023, Narendra Modi Under the government, the total terrorism incidents have been recorded around 2,000, which marks a 70 per cent reduction in terrorism incidents. So I was right in saying that the root cause of separatism, the root cause of terrorism is nothing else but Section It was 370."
