Around 1.80 crore students of higher education institutions across the country, including government-funded universities and IITs, will be able to access research papers published in top journals across the world from January 1.

 

International magazines will be available

Students will get this benefit under the Central Government's 'One Nation, One Subscription' initiative. Principal Scientific Advisor to the Central Government AK Sood told a press conference on Tuesday that under the first phase of the 'One Nation, One Subscription' scheme, more than 13,400 international journals on science, technology, engineering, medicine, mathematics, management, social sciences and humanities will be made available to researchers.

 

Under this initiative, 451 universities, 4,864 colleges and 172 institutes of national importance will be among the 6,380 higher education and research institutions that will have access to top journals published by 30 publishers including Elsevier, Springer Nature and Wiley. The ONOS (One Nation, One Subscription) initiative will be launched on January 1 and under this, students will have access to top journals for the next three years.
