The day of Somvati Amavasya (Somvati Amavasya 2024) is considered very auspicious for the ancestors to attain salvation. Bathing in the holy river and making donations on this day has special significance. It is a religious belief that due to this the person never has to face shortage of food and money in life. If Monday Amavasya is falling on the new moon day of Paush month, then in such a situation it will be known as Somvati Amavasya.

Somvati Amavasya 2024 Shubh Muhurat

According to the Panchang, the Amavasya (Amavasya Timings December 2024) date of Krishna Paksha of Pausha month will start from 04:01 am on 30 December. At the same time, the date will end at 03:56 am on the next day i.e. 31 December (Somvati Amavasya 2024 Date). In such a situation, Somvati Amavasya will be celebrated on 30 December (Somvati Amavasya 2024).

Tulsi Puja Vidhi

• On the Amavasya day of Pausha month, wake up early in the morning and wear clean clothes after taking a bath.
• Offer Arghya to Sun God and clean the temple.
• Light a lamp and perform puja.
• Pray for the peace of your ancestors.
• Pour water on Tulsi plant and apply kumkum tilak.
• Offer sixteen items of makeup.
• Offer a garland of flowers.
• Perform the aarti of Tulsi Mata and chant mantras.
• In the end, offer fruits and sweets etc.

Do not do these things on Amavasya day

According to Sanatan scriptures, doing some work on Amavasya is prohibited, such as cutting or washing hair, cutting nails, etc. It is believed that by doing these things, the person may have to face many problems in life.
