State Bureau, Lucknow. Teachers of council schools will now mark their attendance by showing their face on the tablet from Monday. With the help of face recognition system, they will mark their attendance when the school opens and closes. It will be mandatory for them to mark it twice a day.

Earlier, instructions were given to implement this system from July 15, but teachers started opposing it. Seeing the mobilization of teacher organizations, orders have now been issued to implement it earlier.

Director General issued order

The order has been issued by Director General, School Education Kanchan Verma. 14 registers including teacher attendance register and student attendance register have been digitalized. In such a situation, now teachers will not be able to make any excuses.

Questions raised on geo mapping

On the other hand, teachers are opposing it and saying that they will not install it because there are many problems. State president of Uttar Pradesh BTC Teachers Association, Anil Yadav says that geo mapping of many schools has been done in such a way that the teacher is in the school but when the attendance register is opened through the tablet, it is shown that he is several kilometers away.

Then the link of the face recognition system has not been sent on the Prerna portal yet. In fact, teacher organizations are constantly opposing it. So that they cannot protest, the Directorate General of School Education is adamant on implementing it in advance to create pressure.

demands have not been met

Teachers say that this is being implemented without fulfilling their demands like facility of half leave in case of reaching school late, facility of taking one casual leave in case of coming late three times in a row and grant of earned leave.

In remote schools, teachers, especially women teachers, face difficulties during the rainy season due to falling trees and waterlogging in some places. In such a situation, if salary is deducted for arriving late, there will be protests.
