Maha Kumbh 2025 News: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to further improve the arrangements in view of the possibility of 8-10 crore devotees bathing in the Sangam on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya on January 29. While reviewing the situation of the last 03 days with senior officials of the government level on Wednesday, he said that more than 6 crore people received the holy benefit of bathing in Triveni on the two major bathing festivals of Paush Purnima and Makar Sankranti.
On the occasion of Mauni Amavasya on 29 January, 8-10 crore people are expected to arrive. In such a situation, there is a need to improve the arrangements further. He instructed that by communicating with the railways, the timely movement of Maha Kumbh special trains should be ensured. He said that regular and special trains should be operated continuously.
CM Yogi said that their number should be increased in view of the number of devotees. The Chief Minister also pointed out the need to improve the mobile network in the fair area, and also stressed on the continuous operation of buses, shuttle buses and electric buses. He said that toilets should be cleaned regularly, ghats should be barricaded and 24x7 electricity and drinking water supply should be provided in all sectors. Many officials including Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary Chief Minister, Director General of Police, Principal Secretary Home and Information, Principal Secretary Urban Development, Chairman Power Corporation and Director Information were present in the meeting.
Clean food should be available to the devotees - CM Yogi
In line with the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Yogi government has made special arrangements to provide clean and quality food to crores of devotees coming to the Mahakumbh. Food safety is being ensured by dividing the entire fair area into 5 zones and 25 sectors. Food safety officers are deployed in each sector, who are regularly checking the food items being served. All the arrangements for food safety are being operated from the office located on Sankat Mochan Marg in Sector 24. The food items are being monitored and the teams are being monitored from there.
Assistant Food Commissioner Grade 2 Sushil Kumar Singh said that Food Safety on Wheels is being used to protect the devotees from spoiled or adulterated food. These mobile labs are conducting on-the-spot testing of food and beverages in the fair area. Regular checks are being conducted to ensure the quality of food being prepared at hotels, dhabas and small food stalls. Instructions have been given to take immediate action on receiving complaints.
