Small Saving Schemes: The government said on Thursday that there has been no change in the interest rates of various small saving schemes for the first quarter of the next financial year starting from April 1, 2024. Like before, 7.1 percent interest will continue to be given to the Public Provident Fund (PPF). According to the Finance Ministry's notification, "Interest rates on various small savings schemes for the first quarter (April-June) of the financial year 2024-25 will be the same as the rates notified for the fourth quarter (January-March, 2024)."

8.2% interest on Sukanya scheme

Under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, interest on deposits will be 8.2 percent, while interest on three-year fixed deposits will be 7.1 percent. Interest rates on PPF and post office savings deposits have also been maintained at 7.1 percent and four percent respectively. The interest rate on Kisan Vikas Patra will be 7.5 percent and this investment will mature in 115 months. 
The interest rate on NSC is 7.7%

The interest rate on Nationalthe  Savings Certificate (NSC) will be 7.7 percent for the period from April 1 to June 30, 2024. The interest rate for the monthly income scheme will be 7.4 percent like the current quarter. The government notifies interest rates payable on small savings schemes operated mainly in post offices every quarter.
