Journalist turned producer Pritish Nandy passed away on 8 January in Mumbai. This news was confirmed by his close friend Anupam Kher on social media. Anupam shared a picture of Pritish and wrote a long note.

Kher wrote, “Very sad and shocked to learn about the demise of one of my dearest and closest friends Pritish Nandy! An amazing poet, writer, filmmaker and a brave editor/journalist! He was my support system and strength during my early days in Mumbai. We had so many things in common. He was one of the most fearless people I have met.”

He further wrote- I have learned many things from him. For some time, our meetings had also reduced. But there was a time when no one could separate us. He perfectly fit the definition of Yaaron ka Yaar. I will miss you and every moment spent with you, my friend. Rest well. #HeartBroken
