When Narad Muni reached Vishnu Lok, Lord Vishnu showed him a beautiful city and said that the princess there was going to have a swayamvar. Narad Muni was fascinated by seeing that princess and he prayed to Lord Vishnu to give him such a form that the princess would garland him.
Lord Vishnu accepted the prayers of Narad Muni, but by his Maya gave him the face of a monkey. When Narad Muni reached the Swayamvara, the princess ridiculed him on seeing his monkey form and garlanded another prince.
Sage Narad became very angry
Narad Muni was very angry with this incident and in anger he cursed Lord Vishnu that "Just as he (Narad) has suffered the pain of separation from his wife, in the same way Lord Vishnu will also have to suffer the pain of separation from his wife (Lord Ram And Maa Sita Separation) ." Not only this, he also cursed that the same monkey due to whose form he had to suffer humiliation, will help Lord Vishnu.
It is believed that this curse of Narad Muni was the reason for the separation of Lord Rama and Mother Sita . Lord Vishnu incarnated as Rama and had to bear the pain of separation from Sita. Hanuman Ji, who was in the form of a monkey, played an important role in bringing Sita back to Lord Rama.
