New Delhi. The summer tourist season was at its peak in Uttarakhand and Himachal and the traffic system collapsed once again due to the pressure of tourist vehicles on the weekend on Saturday. All the arrangements collapsed in front of the number of tourists who came to Nainital and Kainchi Dham in Uttarakhand. There was a flood of vehicles on the roads.

More than 20 thousand tourists reached Nainital

Due to the jam, vehicles were moving slowly. Although vehicles were stopped at the entry point in Nainital, the jam continued. Although shuttle service was started for Kainchi, the Almora-Haldwani highway was choked with the pressure of vehicles. More than 20 thousand tourists reached Nainital in the whole day.

At the same time, tourism business has taken off as soon as elections are over in Himachal. Occupancy in hotels at most tourist places is 100 percent. In Manali, tourists are not getting rooms around the city. In such a situation, tourists who came without booking on Saturday had to face problems.

Long waits for shuttle vehicles

In Nainital, the police had implemented a special traffic plan since morning. Vehicles coming from Bhawali were stopped at Masjid Tiraha, vehicles coming from Haldwani were stopped at Rusi and vehicles coming from Kaladhungi were stopped at Narayan Nagar. From there, only those tourist vehicles which had made advance booking in hotels with parking were given entry. The remaining tourists were sent to the city by shuttle service. Despite this, there was a traffic jam at the entry point.

Officers of two departments deployed at entry point

In view of the shortage of manpower in Uttarakhand Police, on the instructions of the District Administration, officers and employees of the Education and Social Welfare Department were deployed at the entry points. As the day progressed, the parking spaces in the city became full.

Tourists camp in Himachal with clouds

80 percent rooms are booked in hotels located outside Manali city. Occupancy is 80 to 90 percent in Shimla, Kasauli, Narkanda, Kufri and other places. Most areas in Himachal remained cloudy on Saturday. Similar weather is expected on Sunday as well. Tourists are enjoying the pleasant weather. The number of tourists is more on weekends as compared to other days. Occupancy on other days is up to 70 percent.

Tourists from Delhi, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and other states are arriving in the state. Traffic jams in Shimla, Manali and other major tourist destinations are troubling tourists. The number of vehicles is constantly increasing, but the capacity of roads and parking are limited. In such a situation, long queues of vehicles are being formed.

Snowfall made the day memorable in Rohtang

The cold weather of Kullu, Manali and Lahaul Spiti is attracting tourists. Tourists are facing minus temperature in Rohtang. On Saturday, the temperature of Rohtang was minus two degrees. There was light snowfall at Rohtang Pass at around 11 am. Rohtang has become the first choice of tourists. On Saturday, 10 thousand tourists reached Rohtang Pass.
