Meerut News Today: Meerut, located just a few kilometers away from the central capital Delhi, has established new dimensions of development in the last decade. Despite all this, there are many works which have been in demand here for a long time, in which problems like garbage disposal and traffic jam are common.
The residents of Meerut are going to get relief from many such problems soon. With the construction of flyovers and bypass in Meerut, a blueprint for the rejuvenation of the city has been prepared. This blueprint is not in any office or officer's room, but has been prepared in a hackathon held in Meerut. Let's know what that plan is?
Rapid and Metro will increase the pace of development
Rapid has entered Meerut, Metro is also going to start in Meerut soon and the work of taking Rapid and Metro to the designated ends of the city is going on at a very fast pace. Meerut Vikas Pradhikaran organized a hackathon for the first time to brainstorm with Meerut's public representatives, builders, architects, dignitaries of the city, and businessmen.
During this period, the brainstorming session lasted for not just one or two but more than 6 hours. The traders were asked about their problems, their solutions were found and brainstorming and contemplation was also done on what could be done better in the future.
What were the proposals for the hackathon?
Meerut Development Authority has Rs 300 crore in its treasury. Instead of spending this amount on its own, MEDA wants to spend it by taking everyone along and on a priority basis. That is why an open platform was given in the form of a hackathon in Meerut. Meerut has been divided into six zones.
Let us understand in which areas development work will be done. An elevated road is to be constructed over the drain parallel to Thapar Nagar from Bachha Park to Jali Kothi Square at a cost of Rs 80 crore. Along with this, a long discussion was also held on multi-level parking.
Under this, a proposal was prepared to build multi-level parking at the court complex, gymkhana ground, children's park and town hall at a cost of Rs 50 crore. Western Kachheri Road, Meghdoot Cinema Kachheri Crossing at Abunale will be improved at a cost of Rs 12.5 crore.
This road will be widened in Meerut.
Apart from this, Budhana Gate police post will be removed in Meerut, development will take place from Indira Chowk to Jali Kothi and for this Meda will spend 12.5 lakh rupees. Five crore rupees will be spent on the construction of free carriage at the busy intersections of the city, Commissioner's residence intersection, Hapur Adda intersection, Gandhi Ashram, Jail Chungi intersection, Tej Garhi intersection.
Along with this, a four-lane divider road will be constructed on the Kila Parikshitgarh road for a length of about 7km from the Eastern Bypass junction being constructed by the NH near Bhavanpur to Jailchungi till Kila Parikshitgarh road.
Similarly, Bijli Bamba bypass will be widened at a cost of Rs 80 crore. The development work of the road in the middle of Transport Nagar connecting Delhi Road to Baghpat Road will be done at a cost of Rs 15 crore.
These public representatives of Meerut participated.
The biggest thing about this hackathon was that all the public representatives were asked on an open platform that what is your priority? What should be done in the city so that its appearance changes. There should be relief from traffic jams and the intersections should look sparkling.
MP Arun Govil, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Laxmikant Vajpayee, Baghpat MP Dr. Rajkumar Sangwan, UP Minister of State Dr. Samendra Tomar and MLC Dharmendra Bhardwaj were also present in this hackathon held at a hotel in Meerut.
