Mathura. As soon as the huge water tank fell in Krishna Vihar Colony, the people around felt as if there was an earthquake. When the 2.5 lakh litre tank collapsed with its full weight, the nearby houses shook badly. The debris and water of the tank also filled their houses. People became nervous fearing that someone might be buried under the tank. 

When I came out, I saw a horrifying sight

When the local residents came out in panic, they came to know about the situation. For a moment, no one could understand what to do, then some courageous people started rescue work and rushed the injured who were trapped under the debris of the tank to the hospital. It was also fortunate that the tank collapsed on its own pillars and did not fall in any one direction. If the tank had fallen in any one direction, the accident would have been horrific. 

Children had gone inside their homes due to rain

In the evening, many children were playing under the tank in Krishna Vihar Colony. Many young men were also strolling. During this time, it started raining and the children and young men went inside their homes. This saved a major loss of life. A dozen houses have been damaged in the accident. Many scooties and bikes got buried under the debris.

The district administration teams were busy removing the debris by carrying out rescue operations till late night. After the accident that took place on Sunday evening in Krishna Vihar Colony of Kotwali police station area, the people of the colony are scared. As soon as the tank fell, two and a half lakh liters of water entered the houses. The rooms of the nearby houses were filled with water.

Rajkumar said that he was sitting with his wife Anita. There were children in the house too. Suddenly water entered the entire room. Everyone started drowning. They could not understand what happened suddenly. Darkness fell over their eyes. Screams could be heard from all sides. A lot of household items were washed away in the water. Everyone started swimming in the water that came suddenly. After some time, they came to know about the accident.
