According to the Vedic calendar, the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month will start on September 24 at 12:38 pm and will end on September 25 at 12:10 pm. After this, the Navami Tithi will begin. Lord Krishna is worshipped during Nisha Kaal. Hence, the monthly Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated on September 24.
