After reaching a record high on Friday, the stock market witnessed a decline. Sensex and Nifty closed with a decline and with this decline, the 6-day rally of Nifty came to an end. Nifty closed 37 points down at 26,197, while Sensex closed 264 points down at 85,572. Due to the decline in HDFC Bank, Bank Nifty also witnessed a decline. Nifty Bank closed 541 points down at 53,834. 6 out of 12 stocks of Nifty Bank witnessed a decline. Apart from this, Midcap closed 88 points down at 60,381.
However, on Friday, IT, metal indices closed on a rise. Apart from this, oil-gas, PSE, pharma stocks saw a rise. Pressure was seen on realty, banking, FMCG stocks. Earlier, on the last day of the week, the market showed a great rise and soon after the market opened, Nifty 50 and Sensex reached fresh highs of 26,250.90 and 85,955.50.
Rise in these stocks Reliance Industries saw a sharp jump in the last hour, the stock closed up 2 per cent. The IT sector saw a rise after the results and guidance of Accenture and the stocks saw a rise of 1-2 per cent. In today's trading, the shares of oil marketing companies saw a jump and BPCL, HPCL saw a rise of up to 6 per cent. Apart from this, Cipla, Sun Pharma, Coal India saw a rise. Sugar stocks saw a rise of up to 5 per cent, as the government is considering increasing the prices of ethanol and sugar. Apart from this, Tata Power touched an all-time high after Morgan Stanley upgraded the company to double. SJVN saw a 5 percent rise after MoUs with the Maharashtra government on an investment of Rs 48,000 crore.
How was the performance of the whole week
The stock market closed with gains for the third consecutive week. This week Nifty saw a gain of more than 1.50 percent. Sensex saw a rise of 1.25 percent. Midcap index and Nifty Bank saw marginal gains.
This week all sectoral indices closed with gains. Metal index rose 7 percent, Nifty Auto saw a gain of 5 percent. Buying was seen in 40 out of 50 Nifty stocks. BPCL, Tata Steel, M&M, Hindalco were the top gainers. LTIMindtree, L&T, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank IndusInd Bank were the top Nifty falling stocks. Most midcap stocks closed in the green.
Metal index top sectoral gainer
On Friday, September 27, the Nifty Metal Index is one of the top sectoral gainers, with a gain of 1 percent. The Nifty Metal index has gained 10 per cent in the last six days following the measures announced by China to boost its economy in the last few days. The index also saw its best week since May, with stocks rising up to 15 per cent.
