New Delhi: Several central government officials and employees received a suspicious email on Tuesday, following which an organization representing them demanded an investigation into the matter. In an email sent to Central Secretariat Service (CSS) officers working in various ministries, they were asked to click on a link to ensure that their official mail accounts are not cancelled.
CSS Forum, an organization of CSS officers, posted on X that CSS officers are the backbone of the Central Secretariat. The forum asked the National Informatics Centre, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to look into the issue.
CSS Forum general secretary Ashutosh Mishra said that this suspected phishing attack should be thoroughly investigated and also asked the officials to be vigilant. He said that since the entire work of the Central Secretariat is now online, immediate action is required to prevent such incidents. He said that the security of our communication is of utmost importance.
