He was admitted to AIIMS in Delhi late in the evening after his health deteriorated. Where doctors declared him dead. He was 92 years old and was ill for a long time. Former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda wrote on social media platform X, “I am saddened by the news of the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh ji, a great economist of the world, a pioneer of economic reforms in India and who gave the country a distinct identity across the world by taking it forward on the path of progress through his work.”
He further said, "His departure has caused an irreparable loss to the political world, which is very difficult to fill in the near future. Heartfelt tribute to the departed soul, deep condolences to the family and supporters.
He was PM from 2004 to 2014
Dr. Manmohan Singh is considered the father of major economic reforms in India. His role was highly appreciated. He held the post of Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014.
