Man arrested from Karnataka
Haveri Superintendent of Police Anshu Kumar told news agency , "Based on information received from Maharashtra ATS (Anti-Terrorist Squad), a person was arrested in Haveri town and handed over to them today."
During investigation, it was found that the accused hails from Karnataka, following which a team of Worli police was sent to arrest him. Bishnoi was arrested late Tuesday night and after interrogation, he was handed over to Worli police.
Where did the whole matter start from?
The dispute between Salman Khan and Lawrence Bishnoi is related to an incident of 1998. Salman Khan was then shooting for Sooraj Barjatya's multi-starrer film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. One day the actor went hunting at night where he killed two blackbucks. This species is worshipped by the Bishnoi community and for this reason the Bishnoi committee is angry with him.
This long-standing feud has led to several threats against the actor in recent months. After 26 years, the matter has come into limelight. Earlier this year, some unidentified persons had also opened fire near his residence.
