Chhattisgarh News: Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans were killed on Friday when lightning struck the paramilitary force's anti-Naxal training centre in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district, police said.

 

An official said that the incident took place at around 3 pm when a training session was going on at the training centre located in the Barsoor police station area of ​​the district. He said that constables Mahendra Kumar and S.S. Alam of the 111th battalion of CRPF were seriously injured due to lightning.

 

The officer said that both were taken to Dantewada hospital by ambulance where doctors declared them dead. He said that Kumar was a resident of Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh while Alam was a resident of Sahibganj in Jharkhand.

 

He said their families have been informed about the tragedy. Police said a CRPF jawan had died in a similar incident of lightning during an anti-Naxal operation in neighbouring Bijapur district.
