Lawrence Bishnoi's cousin has revealed that his family spends around ₹35 to 40 lakh per year to take care of the gangster as he is in jail. Lawrence Bishnoi's 50-year-old cousin Ramesh Bishnoi also said that the family never imagined that my brother Lawrence, 31, a law graduate from Punjab University, would become a criminal one day. The Daily Guardian quoted Ramesh as saying, "We have always been rich. Lawrence's father was a constable in the Haryana Police and our family owns 110 acres (of land) in the village. Lawrence always wore expensive clothes and shoes. In fact, even now, the family spends ₹35 to 40 lakh annually on him in jail."
Lawrence Bishnoi is in the news after the murder of Baba Siddiqui
Born in Ferozepur in Punjab, Bishnoi, whose real name is Balkaran Brar, changed his name from 'Lawrence', which he was affectionately called by his family, during his school years, reportedly on the suggestion of his aunt. He felt the latter name was 'better'. In recent years, his name has cropped up in several high-profile cases, including the murder of Maharashtra politician Baba Siddiqui in Mumbai last week. Lawrence's gang claimed responsibility for Siddiqui's murder through social media posts.
Police is investigating Siddiqui's murder
