Lucknow. Civil Judge Junior Division Abhishek Gupta rejected the objections of Sunni Waqf Board regarding the Laxman Tila dispute. Advocate Nripendra Pandey and others had demanded to perform worship at Laxman Tila. In this regard, they had filed a case against Union of India, State Government and seven people including Mutawwali and Imam of Teela Wali Mosque.

Nripendra Pandey says that the mound mosque was built by demolishing the Laxman temple. After the case, the Sunni Central Board filed an objection and said that the said property has been registered in the records of the Waqf Board since January 21, 1975.

The next hearing will be on July 11

The mosque on the mound is known by the name of Peer Mohammad. The jurisdiction to decide the ownership of the Waqf Board on the property lies with the Waqf Tribunal. The suit is not maintainable in the civil court. Judge Abhishek Gupta, while rejecting the objections of the Waqf Board, said that the Supreme Court has also said in its judicial systems that the civil court has the jurisdiction to settle such disputes. The next hearing will be on July 11.
