Ottawa: Indian-origin Canadian MP Chandra Arya on Saturday expressed concern over the installation of posters of Indira Gandhi's assassination by Khalistan supporters in Canada.

Arya claimed that Khalistan supporters are once again trying to create fear of violence among Hindu-Canadians by putting up effigies of murdered former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. During the protest, Khalistan supporters showed bullet marks on the effigy of the former Prime Minister and in front of it were the guns of her murdered Sikh bodyguards.

Canadian MP Arya posted this

Canadian MP Aarya further said that similar threats were spread a few years ago. Aarya said in a post shared on X,

Pro-Khalistan Hindus in Vancouver are trying to instill fear of violence among Hindu-Canadians by carrying posters of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi with bullet marks on her body and her assassinated bodyguards holding guns.

This series of threats continues, with similar images being shown in Brampton a few years ago and a few months ago when Pannu of Sikhs for Justice asked Hindus to go back to India. I again call on law enforcement agencies in Canada to take immediate action.

MP Arya said- such an incident can really happen

The Canadian Member of Parliament said that if it is not challenged, it can take a real form. Images of guns are being used easily to convey a message, if it is not challenged, it can take some real form.

Arya asserts that the prominent placement of the bindi on Indira Gandhi's forehead was doubly intended to ensure that her targets were Hindu-Canadians.

Parade was also taken out last year

In June last year, a tableau parade was organised in Canada celebrating the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, which was strongly criticised by India.

In March this year, pro-Khalistan supporters protested outside the Indian embassy in Canada. They raised pro-Khalistan slogans and allegedly attacked Indian-origin journalists present at the spot.
