The month of Kartik is considered very sacred in Sanatan Dharma. This month is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the protector of the world, and Mother Tulsi. Why is Kartik month special?
It is contained in the Sanatan scriptures that Lord Vishnu, the savior of the world, goes to rest in Kshirsagar from Ekadashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month. After resting continuously for four months, Lord Vishnu awakens on Ekadashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. During this time, Lord Vishnu remains in Yog Nidra for four months in Kshirsagar. No auspicious work is done during Chaturmas. At the same time, auspicious works are done after Lord Vishnu awakens on Ekadashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. Many major fasts and festivals are celebrated in this month including Dhanteras, Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj and Chhath Puja. For this, Ganga bath is taken in the month of Kartik. Along with this, Deepdaan is done.
When to take bath?
According to religious experts, during the month of Kartik, bathe and meditate in the Ganga river every day during the Brahma Muhurta. If this is not possible, bathe with water mixed with Ganga water. After this, offer water to the Sun God. Women should offer water to Tulsi every day (except Sunday) after bathing and meditating. Also, do the aarti of Tulsi Mata in the evening . Apart from this, do the remedies related to Tulsi.
