Beirut: Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has given a big warning to Israel. He said that if Israel takes any kind of retaliation for Iran's attack on Tel Aviv last Tuesday, it will have to pay a heavy price for it. Araghchi vowed that Iran will take concrete action against any retaliatory attack by Israel. Now it will be interesting to see how and for how long Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will remain silent after this threatening statement by the Iranian Foreign Minister. Because Netanyahu has also vowed to take a major retaliatory action against Iran.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard also said that if Israel makes the mistake of attacking us, we will attack its gas and energy facilities. Official Lebanese media say Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is currently in Beirut. Israel has intensified its air and ground attacks against the Tehran-backed Hezbollah terrorist group in Lebanon. "An Iranian plane has landed at Rafik Hariri International Airport with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on board," the Lebanese National News Agency said, the first visit by a top Iranian official since Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli attack in Beirut last week.
Nasrallah and a top-ranking Iranian general were killed in Israel's earlier attack on Lebanon. Speaking in Beirut, Abbas said that if Israel attacks Iran in response to Tuesday's missile attack, there will be a harsh retaliation. He also said that we support ceasefire efforts in Lebanon, provided Hezbollah supports it.
Any ceasefire in Lebanon must be with Gaza
The Iranian foreign minister also met Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati in Beirut. He said Tehran supports ceasefire efforts in Lebanon on the condition that it also has Hezbollah's consent. There should also be a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. He said, "We support ceasefire efforts on the condition that it will be acceptable to the Lebanese people, acceptable to the resistance and thirdly, it will be synchronized with the ceasefire in Gaza."
