In the film, Amitabh Bachchan plays Dr. Ranveer Malhotra, a protective father who tries his best to protect his daughter Riya (Bipasha Basu) from her obsessive boyfriend Aryan Trivedi (John Abraham). However, Riya ignores her father's words and falls in love with Aryan. Despite a great cast and a mysterious story, Aitbaar was unable to perform well at the box office.
