Indira Ekadashi Vrat Story (Indira Ekadashi Vrat 2024 Katha)
According to mythology, in Satyuga, there was a king named Indrasen who ruled the city of Mahishmati. He had all the material comforts. One day, Sage Narad arrived in the court of King Indrasen with a message from his dead father. Narad ji told King Indrasen that a few days ago he met the king's father in Yamlok. The king's father told Narad ji that the Ekadashi fast was broken during his lifetime, due to which he has not yet attained salvation and he is still wandering in Yamlok.
Hearing this message, the king became very sad and asked Narad ji for a solution to free his father. Narad ji told him that if he observes a fast on Indira Ekadashi in the month of Ashwin, then his father will be freed from all kinds of sins. Along with this, he will get a place in Vaikunth Dham.
After this, the king took a pledge of Indira Ekadashi fast (Indira Ekadashi 2024) and duly worshiped Lord Vishnu. Along with this, the king performed the Shradh of the ancestors, Brahmin Bhojan and also did charity according to his capacity in their name, as a result of which the king's father got liberation and attained salvation. Not only this, King Indrasen also attained Baikunth Dham after death. This is the reason why even today people observe this fast with devotion.
