India's indigenous fighter aircraft Tejas has achieved a major milestone which is going to give sleepless nights to enemy countries. The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) has successfully tested the indigenous ASTRA BVR air-to-air missile from the LCA AF MK1 prototype fighter aircraft. ASTRA BVR has been tested from Tejas LCA AF MK1 prototype fighter aircraft on March 12, 2025 off Chandipur coast of Odisha. The Defense Ministry said- "During the test, the missile successfully demonstrated a direct hit on the flying target. All subsystems performed accurately, meeting all mission parameters and objectives.

What is the speciality of Astra missile?

Astra missile or ASTRA BVR missile has been developed and developed by India's Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). Astra missile is capable of targeting targets located at a distance of more than 100 kilometers. This missile is equipped with advanced guidance and navigation capabilities.
