Sultanpur News Today: In Sultanpur, the girl refused to marry the groom calling him mentally retarded. All this happened after the jaimala ceremony. There was chaos in the wedding hall. After the bride's refusal, the wedding procession had to return empty handed. After this dispute, on Wednesday (20 November), both the parties reached the police station for a panchayat. 

This entire incident is from Mustafabad Kala of Dostpur police station area of ​​Sultanpur district. A wedding procession had come to Dostpur in Mustafabad Kala. Recently, the marriage of Babita (28), the elder daughter of a person named Sujit, was fixed with Puneet (30), son of Bechan, a resident of Nagari Makoiya village of Akhandnagar police station area. 

The bride refused to marry
. Babita has studied upto graduation. On the other hand, Puneet has failed high school. Their wedding date was fixed for Sunday (17th November). As per the fixed time, Puneet reached Sujit's house with the wedding procession. Sujit's relatives and villagers left no stone unturned in welcoming the wedding party.

After refreshments, some wedding rituals were performed, then the baraatis started eating and drinking. After this, the jaimala ceremony was also performed on the stage, but right after this, the bride refused to marry the groom, calling him mentally retarded. People from both the sides were shocked to hear this. The elders of both the sides tried to convince the girl a lot, and the night turned into morning. However, things did not work out.

Both the parties reconciled.
By the morning, on receiving the information, the police also reached the spot and tried to make peace, but the matter did not yield any result. On Tuesday, the girl's father and the boy's father reached Dostpur police station with some people. After hours of talks, a peace was reached here. 

Dostpur police station SHO Pandit Tripathi said that the people of the groom's side will return whatever was spent on the Tilak ceremony. Whereas the people of the bride's side will return all the jewellery given by the groom. The people of the girl's side have agreed to this.

'There was a ruckus over slippers and bangles'
On this occasion, the girl's family refused to talk to the media, while the boy's father Bechan said that the marriage had been completed till the jaimala ceremony, there was no problem. After that, the girl went inside and refused to wear clothes.

The boy's father said that there was a ruckus over a pair of slippers and bangles and they said that we will not marry. We forgot and could not take them. He said that the girl's family is demanding the Tilak back today and asked for the jewellery back. We have given a complaint to the police.
