Tips to get enough sleep

  • Regular sleep cycle- After Diwali, set a fixed time for your sleeping and waking up. Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep every night.
  • Quiet environment- Make your room quiet and turn off the lights before going to bed. Bright lights, noise, and heat can disrupt sleep.
  • Comfortable Bed- A comfortable bed and pillow will help you get good sleep.
  • Digital detox- Stop using your phone, laptop and other electronic devices at least an hour before bedtime. The blue light emitted from these gadgets affects sleep .
  • Take a warm bath: Taking a warm bath before going to bed helps relax the body and induces sleep.
  • Comfortable clothes- Wear loose and comfortable clothes while sleeping.
  • Reduce stress- Stress can disrupt sleep. Try reducing stress with techniques such as yoga, meditation or deep breathing.
  • Healthy Diet- Eating a healthy diet provides the body with the nutrients it needs to stay healthy and improves the quality of sleep.
  • Avoid caffeine and alcohol – Caffeine and alcohol can disrupt sleep, so avoid consuming them before bedtime.
  • Sleep for some time during the day – If you have not slept well at night, you can sleep for some time during the day, but keep in mind that sleeping for too long during the day will prevent you from sleeping at night.
  • Read a book- Reading a book before sleeping calms the mind and induces sleep.
  • Light exercise- Doing light exercise during the day tires out the body and helps in getting good sleep at night.
