BHU News: Last year on November 1, an IIT-BHU student was gang-raped. During this time, students protested against it for months in the campus and demanded strict action against the accused. However, during this time there were many issues related to the incident due to which groups of students also came face to face. Not only this, during the protest regarding this incident in the campus, incidents like fighting between groups of students also took place. After this, a complaint was lodged in the nearest police station, apart from this, a standing committee was also formed in the university for investigation. Now the university administration has taken a tough stand on this and 5 girl students and 12 boys have been suspended citing indiscipline in the university.

'Students suspended for a month over protests'
Last year, on 1 November 2023, there were protests on the campus for weeks in the case of gang rape of an IIT BHU student. During this time, some groups of students were also face to face regarding different matters related to the incident and their demands. During this time, there were also incidents of clashes and assaults between some students regarding the protest, for which a standing committee was formed to investigate. Now its report has come out, according to which 12 students and 5 girl students of the university have been suspended for a month. Apart from this, they have also been instructed to stay away from any academic activities of the campus till the suspension period.

'Indiscipline on campus will not be tolerated under any circumstances'
The university administration says that - affecting the academic environment on campus and indiscipline will not be tolerated under any circumstances. And keeping this in mind, this strict step has been taken by the university administration. The students against whom action has been taken have been informed about this. It has also been warned that they will not be allowed to enter the campus hostel and library for the stipulated period.
