Faridabad Police of Haryana has arrested a fake IPS. The arrested person was an employee of a private company based in Noida. The person had demanded an escort vehicle from the police department by claiming himself to be an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. Later, when the truth was revealed, the police arrested the person. Police said that the person was arrested and produced in the city court, from where he has been sent to judicial custody. 

The man called the police

Police said that on Wednesday night, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Faridabad) informed the SHO of Palla police station that he had received a call in which the caller introduced himself as DCP of South Delhi, Surendra Chaudhary. Police said that the caller said that he had to come to Faridabad and did not know the way, so he needed a police escort vehicle immediately to reach the right place. It said that after this the SHO contacted the given mobile number and reached the Delhi border, where after waiting for some time, he met a person who introduced himself as DCP of South Delhi. 

The man was arrested by the police

Police said that he was put in a car and taken towards Faridabad. When the alleged DCP of South Delhi was asked about his destination, he asked the SHO to drop him back to Noida. According to the police, after this it was found that the person was a fake IPS officer. According to the police, the accused has been identified as Gaurav Sharma, who lives in Mehrauli, Delhi. This person works in a private company in Noida. A police spokesperson said, "During interrogation, the accused revealed that he had obtained the phone numbers of DCP South Delhi and DCP Central Faridabad through the Internet. "
