Banke Bihari Mandir Mathura: Hearing will be held in Allahabad High Court today on the proposed corridor in Banke Bihari temple of Mathura. The maintainability of the petition is to be debated in the court. After this, the court has to decide on the form of the proposed corridor and the commencement of work. So far, hearing has been held on 74 dates in this case.

The state government has approved the plan to build a corridor around the Banke Bihari temple in Mathura. The government has also made a provision of Rs 150 crore in the budget for this. After this, the government filed a review petition and sought permission from the High Court to acquire land for the corridor and use the amount deposited in the temple fund. But the court did not give permission for this.

 

 

Not allowed to use temple funds
The High Court has not given permission to use the money deposited in the temple's bank account for building the corridor. The High Court has said that the government should go ahead with its proposed plan. But, the temple's funds cannot be used for this. Along with this, the administration should also ensure that the visitors do not face any hindrance in visiting the temple. The court has given permission to the government to remove the encroachment which is creating an obstacle in building the corridor. 

 

Let us tell you that this PIL has been filed by the petitioners Anant Sharma, Madhumangal Das and others in this case. On November 8, 2023, the court had given instructions to the government regarding crowd management. The guidelines which have not been followed till now. The government has filed an application demanding amendment in the instructions. A division bench headed by Chief Justice Arun Bhasali is hearing the case. The court says that the government can go ahead with the proposed plan but, this should not cause trouble to the devotees coming for darshan.
