Jas Haldwani: Haldwani Crime: In Kathgodam police station area, some people called a young man from his house and beat him up. It is alleged that after beating him, the youths cut off his thumb with a sharp weapon. The mother of the injured has given a complaint to the police and requested for action against the accused.

Sahima Siddiqui, a resident of Bypass Road Kathgodam, told the police that her son Asif was friends with the youth in the neighbourhood, but later the friendship broke down. The friends started having a grudge against the son over some issue. It is alleged that on May 11, the youth called the son on phone and called him to Kathgodam Chungi.

First, his bike was hit by a car. After this, he was beaten up. The accused also cut off the son's thumb with a sharp weapon. The police have started investigating the case.

Young men beat up tourists in Nainital

Tourists strolling near the lake shore near Mallital boat stand in Nainital city got into an argument with some youths over a trivial matter. The youths beat up the tourists badly. After treatment at BD Pandey Hospital, the tourists who reached the police station have demanded action. Bareilly resident Rajesh Singh was strolling with one of his friends on the lake shore on Wednesday night.

With the help of passersby, the police took the two tourists to BD Pandey Hospital. SSI PS Mehra said that the youths who beat them up are being searched by scanning the CCTV footage of the area.
