UP News: Allahabad High Court has issued notice to the top officials of the Police Department and Fire Department and sought their reply on the petition of Fire Station II Officer Dharmendra Yadav and hundreds of other inspectors posted in Ghaziabad, Meerut, Varanasi, Agra, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Kanpur Nagar and Prayagraj of UP. This order has been passed by Hon'ble Justice JJ Munir in the petitions of hundreds of inspectors/fire station second officers working in the Police Department and Fire Department.

 

 Senior advocate Vijay Gautam and assistant advocate Atipriya Gautam presented the case on behalf of the petitioners. In this case, the court has ordered the Joint Secretary Home, DGP Uttar Pradesh Lucknow and DG Fire Service, Lucknow to inform the Registrar Compliance Allahabad High Court within 48 hours of the above order by the Chief Judicial Magistrate.

 

 What is the whole matter?


According to the facts of the case, on 17.06.2016, a notification was issued by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board for direct recruitment to the posts of 2707 Sub Inspector Civil Police, Platoon Commander PAC and Fire Officer II for the year 2016. All the petitioners, who fulfilled all the eligibility criteria of the notification, applied. All the petitioners, after passing the online written examination, scrutiny of documents and physical standard test and physical efficiency test, were selected in the final selection list on 28.02.2019. 

 

In 2019,


UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, Lucknow released the list of 2181 selected Inspectors, Platoon Commanders and Fire Officers, in which all the applicants were also selected. Thereafter, after getting the medical done of all the selected Inspectors, Platoon Commanders and Fire Officers, they were sent for training in June/July, 2019.

 

The unsuccessful candidates had filed a petition in the court


The unsuccessful candidates challenged the selection list dated 28.02.2019 by filing separate petitions in the Allahabad High Court as a group. After this order of the High Court dated 11.09.2019, all the selected inspectors, platoon commanders and second officers of the fire station were sent back to their homes from the training center in June/July 2020 without undergoing training.
