Gopalganj News: A high level investigation has begun into the murder of retired soldier Satendra Singh and the attack on tiles businessman Nayan Prasad in broad daylight in Gopalganj Mirganj city. On Monday, DIG of Saran Range Nilesh Kumar Verma investigated. After investigating the crime scene, the DIG instructed police officers to work on several points. SP Awadhesh Dixit, SDPO Hathua Anand Mohan Gupta and the police team of Mirganj police station were present with the DIG.

Investigation is ongoing in the murder case

The DIG also saw the CCTV footage and collected information about the incident from eyewitnesses. The police also questioned the family members of the deceased Satendra Singh and gathered information on several points. On the other hand, on the second day of the incident, a joint SIT formed by Siwan and Gopalganj police teams raided several hideouts of the criminals including Siwan, Mirganj and Deoria in the neighbouring state of Uttar Pradesh. According to official sources of the police, the SIT has picked up five suspects for interrogation, who are being questioned about the murder.

On the other hand, the police of Mirganj police station has registered an FIR against named and unknown criminals in this case. It has not been revealed who all have been made accused in the FIR and what is the reason for the murder. Police officials say that it will be revealed soon. At the same time, land dispute has come to the fore in the investigation so far.

Tiles businessman Nayan Prasad had a dispute over land in Badharia of Siwan. Sources say that Nayan Prasad bought the disputed land and the dispute was going on for a year over the same. Apart from the land, the police is investigating other points behind the incident. SP Awadhesh Dixit said that the SIT is continuously conducting raids. The police has received many inputs in the raids being conducted on the hideouts of criminals in UP-Bihar, on the basis of which the investigation is going on and soon this murder case will also be solved.

Doctors from Sadar Hospital referred tiles businessman Nayan Prasad, who was injured in the firing, to the medical college for better treatment. His family has admitted him to a hospital in Gorakhpur. However, SP Awadhesh Dixit has said that his condition is out of danger. A police team is also being sent to Gorakhpur to record the statement of the injured businessman.

Businessmen say that it is difficult to say when someone will fall prey to the criminals' bullets. Due to poor law and order, the morale of criminals is increasing.  What is the whole matter of the shooting incident? 

On February 2, bike-riding criminals entered the shop of tiles businessman Nayan Prasad in Mirganj city of Mirganj police station and opened fire. In the firing, retired army man Satendra Singh, brother of former chief DK Singh, resident of Vrindavan, died of bullet injuries, while tiles businessman Nayan Prasad was injured by bullets. Two criminals had reached the shop with the intention of shooting the businessman to death. After committing the crime, both the bike-riding criminals fired in the air and fled towards Thawe. Police is now investigating the matter.
