UP OTS Scheme Date: OTS scheme 2024-25 for electricity bill defaulters in Uttar Pradesh is starting from December 15. This scheme will run in three phases from December 15 to January 31, 2025 and those who want to take advantage of it will have to register themselves on the corporation's website and deposit 30 percent of the principal outstanding and will get a discount in surcharge on the remaining outstanding. In this, at the time of registration, it will be mandatory to deposit 30% of the principal outstanding of electricity bills till 30 September 2024. Consumers will get a discount in the surcharge of outstanding electricity bills till 30 September 2024.
The plan will run in three phases
This scheme will run in three phases, the first phase will start from 15 December and will run till 31 December in which 100 percent discount will be given on lump sum payment of up to 1 kilo watt load and principal outstanding up to Rs. 5000 and 75 percent discount on late payment surcharge on payment in 10 installments. At the same time, 70 percent discount will be given on outstanding amount more than Rs. 5000 and 60 percent discount will be given in installments.
The second phase will start from January 1 and will continue till January 15. In this, there will be 80 percent discount on lump sum payment up to Rs 5000. 65 percent discount on installments. 60 percent discount on more than Rs 5000 and 50 percent discount on installments. Its third phase will start from January 16 and will continue till January 31. In this, there will be 70 percent discount on lump sum payment, 55 percent discount on installment payment, 50 percent discount on outstanding amount more than Rs 5000 and 40 percent discount on installments.
Who will get the benefit
The people who will get the benefit of this scheme are domestic consumers (LMV-1), commercial (LMV-2), private institutions (LMV-4B), industrial institutions (LMV-6) and the consumers whose connection is permanently disconnected can also avail the benefit.
Where to register
To avail this benefit, consumers can register themselves at the departmental section/sub-section office, Vidyut Sakhi, Public Service Center or departmental website www.uppcl.org. For registration, they will have to provide their latest electricity bill and mobile number and payment can also be made through these means. On the other hand, consumers who do not make payment after registration will not get the benefit of the scheme and their surcharge will also be increased.
