There are many important religious texts in Sanatan Dharma. Garuda Purana is also included in this. According to Garuda Purana, a person has to cross the Vaitarni river after death. Therefore, to cross this river, it is considered necessary to donate cows in life. By donating cows , a person does not have to face any kind of difficulty to cross the Vaitarni river. At the same time, by not doing this good deed, one has to face difficulties to cross the river.

According to the belief, by donating a cow, the soul successfully crosses the Vaitarni river. This is why donating a cow is considered important in life.
